About

Pol & Grace Hotel

Pol & Grace Hotel makes its home in Barcelona's Gràcia district, a neighbourhood that feels more local than touristy. The six-floor property is decorated floor by floor with artwork that nods to Catalan culture — think a wooden game inspired by castellers of Valls. It's an independent, design-led stay with a library, a solarium, and a sun terrace where you can unwind with a drink.

The hotel keeps things practical too. There's a 24-hour reception, luggage storage, and a coffee shop on site. Breakfast, served as a continental spread with freshly made items, is charged to your room, so you can decide each morning whether to eat in or head out to one of the many cafés nearby. Each room comes with a smartphone loaded with a local SIM — data and local calls included — which guests have found genuinely useful for navigating the city.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Staff who genuinely care — The team at Pol & Grace consistently earns high marks from guests, with a 9.0 rating for staff — the highest category on the property. Several reviews call out specific team members by name for going above and beyond.
  • Artistic, local character — Each of the six floors carries a distinct artistic theme that references Catalan culture, from a wooden game inspired by castellers to thoughtful design details. It's a stay that feels connected to Barcelona rather than generic.
  • Strong value for money — With rates from £70 and an 8.2/10 guest rating across more than 3,300 reviews, the hotel delivers a price-to-experience ratio that guests repeatedly highlight. The value rating stands at 7.9.
  • Useful extras included — Each room comes with a smartphone offering unlimited local data and calls, plus free coffee and tea in the lobby, a welcome drink, and a rooftop terrace with sun loungers — small touches that make a stay more comfortable.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Comfort and facilities rate lower — Guests scored comfort at 6.3 and facilities at 6.8 out of 10 — the lowest categories. This suggests the rooms and on-site amenities might not match the expectations set by the rest of the property.
  • Not walking distance to the historic centre — The hotel sits in Gràcia, about a 30-minute walk from the Gothic Quarter and historic centre. Public transport is close, but if you want to be in the heart of the old town, this isn't it.
  • Parking is challenging — On-site parking is limited, and guests note that finding a public spot can require luck. There's only a small area for quick drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Staff knowledge can be patchy — While staff are friendly and helpful, some guests found their knowledge of Barcelona's transport and specific attractions limited, which caused a few hiccups with things like airport transfers.

“The staff welcomed us with such warmth after a long journey. I really appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby — a lovely way to relax.”

“A cool hotel with a great location, still close to the Gothic Quarter, and with exceptionally good views. The room was fairly quiet and attractive, the bed exceptionally comfortable, and the continental breakfast was freshly made.”

8.2Verified guest

“The location was decent — not the centre, but close to public transport, shops, and a lively area. The price was very good. Staff were helpful and tried to make you comfortable, though asking them about something complex was hit or miss; there was some confusion about airport transfers. Rooms were fine, with water and apples provided, plus a free mobile phone with internet — though I didn't use it as I had my own. You can make tea in the lobby, and there's a very cosy terrace upstairs. Good value, very cheap, and the staff were hospitable, but their knowledge of Barcelona's transport and specifics was limited.”

“An incredible place to stay — comfortable, clean, original, and well located, with a very good staff. It far exceeded our expectations and offered excellent value for money. My family and I especially appreciated Cezar's assistance and professionalism, which made our stay so much more comfortable. I hope to return.”

“The location is convenient — Pl. Molina station is right around the corner, and Fontana Metro is a 6-minute walk away, plus a bus stop nearby. Getting anywhere in the city by public transport was easy, especially with a T10 card. Gràcia isn't particularly touristy, which is what attracted us. The room was stylish with a large bed and comfortable mattress, always cleaned perfectly. We didn't plan to have breakfast at the hotel, but when we tried it a few times we were pleasantly surprised — good choice and everything delicious, and it's convenient that the bill is charged to your room. The complimentary smartphone with unlimited internet and local calls was fantastic — I could take it everywhere, from navigation to booking a restaurant table. All in all, I liked the hotel very much and can safely recommend it.”

“The artistic decor on each of the six floors adds a unique vibe that connects you to local culture. The rooftop terrace is a cosy retreat after a day of exploring, with convenient grocery stores and varied dining options nearby.”
